Our yard at Raj Kripal Lumbers Ltd. is right off NH 8/A in Gandhidham. If you’ve ever driven through Mithi Rohar, you know how the dust gets, especially when the wind picks up across the flats. We’re located at Survey No. 23, and it’s basically just rows and rows of wood stacked up high. You can smell the sawdust the minute you step out of your car. It’s a heavy scent that sticks to your clothes, but after working here for years, you don’t even notice it anymore. We spend a lot of our time out in the sun, checking the stacks and making sure everything is where it should be. The trucks come in and out all day from the highway, and the noise is constant. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we like being right there where the action is. Inside the small office, it’s mostly just paperwork and old calendars on the wall. We drink a lot of tea to stay going. There’s no big fancy reception area or anything like that. Just a desk, some chairs, and people coming in to talk about orders. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, with more buildings going up, but our spot stays pretty much the same. It’s a lot of hard work, especially in the heat, but it is just what we do every single day without fail.
