We are located at 4, Ojas Complex Sector 9-c. It is right on the National Highway here in Gandhidham. The noise from the big trucks never really stops, so we just get used to it after a while. Most days involve moving tires from the back to the front or checking the air for people passing through. It is a messy job with the rubber and the grease, but it keeps us busy. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons. Sometimes we just sit on the old stools and wait for the next customer. There isn’t much fancy about the place. We have stacks of tires everywhere, and sometimes it's hard to find a specific size quickly because things get moved around. People from all over Kachchh stop by when they have a problem on the road. The building itself is okay, nothing special, but it serves the purpose. We keep a ledger on the small wooden desk for all the sales and repairs we do. It’s mostly just a few of us here every day, making sure the work gets done. Sometimes the tea guy comes around, and that’s the highlight of the morning. We don’t have any big signs or neon lights, just the name R R Tyres on the wall. It’s honest work, even if our hands are always black from the tires. The highway wind brings in a lot of sand, so we are always sweeping the floor.
