Our lab is located at Plot 53 on Iskon Avenue, right across from the old court building here in Gandhidham. It’s a busy corner of Ward 1/A. We spend most of our time inside looking at samples and writing down results on clipboards. The building isn't new, but it's where we’ve set up all our testing equipment and benches. Dealing with chemicals and various materials means we have to be pretty careful, so there’s a lot of cleaning and organizing involved. We aren't doing anything glamorous, just the regular day-to-day testing that companies around Kachchh require. Sometimes the air smells a bit like a science classroom, which I guess is expected in this line of work. We have a small crew and we’ve gotten used to each other’s habits over the years. The old court building is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We don't have a big reception area, so visitors usually just walk in and talk to whoever is nearest the door. It’s a practical workspace, filled with glass jars, scales, and a lot of paperwork. We keep the lights on late sometimes when there’s a big batch of samples to get through. It’s just how the work goes. We focus on getting the numbers right and making sure the reports are legible for the clients. It’s a steady pace here, and we mostly keep to ourselves and our instruments while the day goes by.
