Our yard is right on the National Highway at Survey No. 362/1 in Mithi Rohar. Being in the Gandhidham and Kachchh area, we are surrounded by a lot of heavy industry and transport. You can see the big trucks passing by all day long, carrying goods from the port. We work with wood, so the smell of timber is the first thing you notice when you walk into our place. There are stacks of planks and logs piled up high in the yard. We spend a lot of time measuring, cutting, and moving things around. It’s physical work and the dust gets everywhere, on our clothes and in our hair. We’ve been here long enough that the highway noise just becomes a background hum. The sun in Kachchh can be really harsh, so we try to do the heaviest loading in the early morning or later in the evening when it cools down a bit. Our office is a simple room with a couple of chairs and a lot of paperwork. We don't have fancy brochures or a PR person. If you want to know about our wood, you just come and look at it yourself. We’re just regular people trying to run a decent timber business. It’s a lot of long hours and sweat, but we like seeing the piles of raw wood turn into something useful. We just keep our heads down and get the job done.
