U S Clothing (india) Pvt Ltd is out in the Kandla Special Economic Zone, specifically at Plot No. 274-281 in Sector 4. Being in Gandhidham means the weather is often dry and the wind carries a bit of salt from the nearby port. Our facility is quite large because we have to fit a lot of equipment and people inside. It’s a different kind of vibe working in an SEZ because there’s so much security and gates you have to pass through every single morning. Once you are inside our plots, it’s a sea of fabric and sewing lines. We make a lot of clothes here, and the scale of it can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. The lights are bright and the floors are concrete. We have a lot of people working in shifts, so the building never really feels empty or quiet. There is a lot of logistics involved in what we do, with trucks coming in and out to take finished goods to the docks. It’s a practical environment where the focus is on getting the numbers right and keeping the machines maintained. We have a small canteen area where everyone gathers for meals, and that’s usually the loudest part of the day. It’s a long way from the city center, but we’ve made a community out here in the dust and the heat of Kachchh.
