Our office is at Plot No. 93 Sector 9 National Highway, Gandhidham Kachchh. If you've ever been to this part of the country, you know it's all about the trucks and the dust. We are Kachchh Carrier Pvt. Ltd., so our lives revolve around schedules and diesel prices. Most mornings start with drivers complaining about the traffic or the wait times at the port. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking where the trailers are. We handle all sorts of cargo, from heavy machinery to smaller boxes. The salt air from the coast makes everything rust faster, so we spend a good amount of time on maintenance. The building isn't much to look at, just a place to keep the logbooks and wait for the next load. We have a small team here. Most of us have been in Gandhidham for a long time. We know which roads are bad and which shortcuts aren't worth the risk. It’s a tough business because something is always going wrong somewhere. A tire blows out or a permit gets delayed, and you just have to fix it. We don't use any fancy tracking software that actually works well, so we rely on calling the drivers. It’s basic, but it gets the job done most of the time. We just try to keep the wheels moving so we can pay the bills and keep the staff busy. Not every day is a success, but we try.
