Jindal Saw Ltd.

Our department is located right in the heart of the village of Samaghogha in the Mundra area of Kutch. We are specifically the electrical team for Jindal Saw Ltd. Working out here in Gujarat is a bit different than being in a city office. It’s an industrial setting through and through. Our daily life involves being in the Jco-2 section, making sure the power systems and all the heavy machinery are running right. It gets pretty dusty and hot out here, especially in the afternoons, but that’s just part of the job. We aren't here to do any fancy marketing. We are the ones in the overalls making sure the lights stay on and the machines keep turning. Most of the guys on the team have been living in this district for a long time. We know the equipment like the back of our hands. Lunch is usually a quick affair in the canteen before heading back to the floor. It’s a loud place with the sound of saws and movement, but you stop noticing it after a while. We handle the maintenance and the repairs as they come up. It is honest, hard work. The village is quiet, which is a nice contrast to the busy plant. We don’t have much in the way of a formal office; it’s more about the workstations and the tool sheds. That’s how things run for us in Samaghogha.
