Jindal Saw Limited

Samagogha is a village out in the Kutch area. It’s pretty dry and dusty most of the year. Our place here is right in the middle of it all. Working for Jindal Saw out here means you get used to the salt in the air and the heavy trucks moving on the main roads. The office is simple. We have a few computers and a lot of logbooks. Mundra is a big hub for industrial stuff, so there is always movement. We usually start early before the sun gets too high. By noon, the heat is really something. Most of the staff here live nearby, so we know each other well. It is not like a big city office where everyone is a stranger. We eat lunch together and talk about the local news or whatever is happening at the port. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, so we just sit outside until it comes back on. You have to be patient to work in Samagogha. It’s a quiet village but the work we do keeps us on our toes. We are basically the ones making sure the pipes and materials get where they need to go from this side of Gujrat. It’s a long way from the big headquarters, but we manage just fine with what we have here. There isn't much to do after work, so we usually just head home and rest for the next day.
