We work out of Plot No. 243/5 in Sector 4 of Gandhidham. The name says it all, really; we help people put their houses together. It could be anything from kitchen cabinets to the way the rooms are laid out. We spend a lot of time with measuring tapes and pencils behind our ears. The office is usually covered in wood shavings or fabric swatches, depending on what project we are currently focusing on. It’s a bit of a mess, but it’s a creative one. We’ve been doing this in the Kachchh area for some time, and we know that every house has its own quirks. Sometimes the walls aren't straight or the space is smaller than it looked on paper, so we have to adjust on the fly. We’re just a small group of people who enjoy the process of making a space look right. We don't have a glossy catalog or a showroom with bright lights. Most of our work comes from word of mouth. We just sit down with people, listen to what they want, and try to make it work within their budget. It’s a practical way of doing things, and it seems to suit the people around here just fine. Some afternoons it gets quite hot in the workshop, so we usually shut down for a bit and have some cold water before finishing up for the day.
