We are based in Gandhidham, specifically at Chetna Chamber in Sector 9. Our office is 104 on the first floor. This is where we handle the affairs for the salt manufacturers around here. If you know Kachchh, you know how much salt comes out of this region. It’s a big part of life here. Our association is really just a place where the local manufacturers can get together and talk about their problems or what’s happening in the industry. It’s not a business in the traditional sense. We don't sell salt ourselves; we just look after the people who do. The office is quite simple. A few tables, some chairs for meetings, and lots of folders with regulations and records. We spend a lot of time talking to the members and hearing about the challenges with the salt pans or the transport. We aren't trying to be fancy or corporate. It’s a very grounded kind of place. Most of us have been involved with salt in some way for a long time. We know the heat and the hard work that goes into it. Our role is just to be a central point where everyone can stay informed. We don't do flashy brochures. We just open the office, answer the phones, and help the salt makers of Kachchh as best as we can. We deal with a lot of paperwork regarding salt quotas and transport logistics, which isn't very exciting. The office can get a bit stuffy in the heat, but we work through it.
