Evergreen Timber Corporation

We are located at Hari Darshan Plot No. 133 in Sector-4 of Gandhidham. Working with wood is a dusty business, especially out here in the Kutch region. You can smell the sawdust from the street before you even see the sign for Evergreen Timber Corporation. We’ve got stacks of timber logs and planks all over the yard. The sun hits Plot No. 133 pretty hard, so we try to do the heavy lifting early in the morning. It’s a lot of measuring and cutting, then moving things around with the crane when it’s working. People in Gandhidham know us for being around for a while. We don’t have a website or anything like that because we are usually too busy out in the yard. My clothes are always covered in fine wood dust by the time I go home. We deal with all sorts of wood, some heavy and some light. The saws are loud, and the work is physical. Sometimes the weather in Kutch makes the wood dry out too fast, so we have to watch where we store the good pieces. It’s just us and the timber. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s a straightforward trade. We get the logs in, we cut them down, and they go out to whoever needs them for building. It is a simple life of hard work, and we wouldn't know what to do if we weren't here at the plot every day.
