We work out of rooms 203 and 204 in the Varunisha Crossway Building, which is on Plot No. 589 in Ward 12-C of Gandhidham. Shipping is the main thing out here in Kachchh, and we are right in the middle of it. Our daily routine involves a lot of checking on port schedules and making sure that all the shipping documents are in order. It is a lot of back-and-forth with different people, and sometimes it feels like we are just living on the phone. The Varunisha building is a busy place with lots of other offices, so there is always someone coming or going. We have a lot of folders and stacks of papers on our desks because there is so much to keep track of when it comes to cargo. Gandhidham is a dusty, busy town, but it’s where all the action is for this kind of work. We aren't a massive company with hundreds of employees, just a small group of us trying to keep the shipments moving. Some days are slow, but most are quite hectic with deadlines and port closings to worry about. We just show up every morning, drink our tea, and start going through the list of what needs to be handled. It’s practical work that requires a lot of patience and paying attention to the small details on the forms to make sure nothing gets stuck at the docks or delayed unnecessarily.
