Dr Suresh K Naik

The clinic here at Plot No. 159 stays pretty busy from the moment we open the doors. Ward 12 B is a central spot in Gandhidham, so a lot of people pass by. Dr Suresh K Naik has his consultation room in the back, and the waiting area is usually filled with people sitting on the benches. We have some old magazines on the table, though nobody really reads them much. They mostly just talk to each other or look at their phones while they wait for their turn. It’s not one of those fancy hospitals with white carpets and expensive art. It’s a practical space where people come to get better. We see all kinds of cases every day. Sometimes it's just a cold, and other times it's something more serious. The staff here knows most of the regular patients by name. We have a small desk for the files, and it gets a bit messy during the rush hours when everyone arrives at once. The air conditioner works most of the time, which is a blessing in the Kachchh heat. We try to keep the schedule moving, but sometimes things take longer than expected. That’s just how medical work goes. There is no point in rushing if you want to do a good job. We close up once the last patient is seen, often late in the evening when the street lights are already on. We just come back and do it again tomorrow.
