Atta Salt Works

Our shop is at Shop No 1 in the B M C B Complex, located in Sector 9 of Gandhidham-Kachchh. It’s a dry area, and you can often feel the salt in the air if the wind is blowing the right way. We have been working out of this spot for a while now. The complex is usually busy with people moving goods back and forth. Inside our space, there’s not much for decoration. We have bags and containers taking up most of the room for Atta Salt Works. The floor is concrete and we try to keep it swept, but salt has a way of getting into every corner. We spend the morning checking the stock and seeing what needs to go out. The climate in Gandhidham is quite harsh, so we keep a couple of fans going all day long just to stay comfortable while we work. It’s a practical setup. We don't have a big staff, so whoever is around handles the heavy lifting and the customers. The paperwork is kept in a small wooden cabinet that’s seen better days. Usually, we take a break in the afternoon when the heat is at its worst. Most of the people who come by are truck drivers or local traders who know exactly what they need. We just get on with the day and make sure the orders are ready to be picked up. It’s honest, repetitive work that keeps us busy.
