Akshara Shipping

We are based on the second floor of Golden Plaza, which is at Plot No. 308 in Ward 12/b. Gandhidham is a real shipping town, so we fit right in with everyone else here. Our room number is 206. Most of the time, the office is just filled with the sound of printers and people talking on their mobiles. Shipping involves a lot of back-and-forth with the port authorities, so someone is always running out the door with papers. We’ve got a few cabinets full of files and some extra chairs for visitors, though it’s usually just our small team. The plaza is quite central, so it’s easy for people to find us once they get to the right floor. The windows look out over the street, which is always packed with trucks and bikes. It can get a bit frantic when there is a tight deadline for a vessel to leave. We don't really do anything special for decorations; it’s just maps and some old calendars on the walls. We’ve been in the Kachchh area for a long time and we understand how the local rhythm works. It’s mostly about getting the paperwork right and making sure the cargo moves like it should. Sometimes we stay late when the ships are delayed at the docks. There’s a tea stall just around the corner that we use a lot. The work is repetitive but it is what we know. We just focus on our daily tasks one at a time.
