Agarwalla Teak International Pvt. Ltd. is based right here in Gandhidham, specifically over at D/149 on the first floor in Shaktinagar. If you know the Kachchh area, you know it’s a big hub for timber because of the port being so close. We spend a lot of our time dealing with logs and planks, mostly teak because that is what everyone wants for their homes and furniture. It's a dusty business, honestly. You can’t really deal with wood and stay clean all day. Our office in Shaktinagar is where we handle the paperwork and talk to the guys at the yards. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and other times it's quiet enough to actually hear the traffic outside. We aren't some massive corporation with a glass building. We’re just a bunch of people who know a lot about wood grain and durability. Teak is tricky because the quality varies so much, so we have to be careful about what we buy and sell. The Gujarat heat is no joke, but the office stays relatively cool. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and the neighbors know us. We don’t do much advertising. People usually find us because someone told them we have good stock or because they saw our trucks moving through the town. We just try to keep the supply moving and make sure the measurements are right before anything leaves the yard.
