A L Ratola Surveryors

Out here at Plot No. 334 in Bhatnagar, Gandhidham, the wind can get pretty strong coming off the coast. Being a part of A L Ratola Surveyors means spending a lot of our time outside with tripods and different measuring tools. It is often dusty work in this part of Kachchh, but that is just how the landscape is. When we are not out in the dirt, we are back at the office in N U 4 trying to make sense of the notes we scribbled down. The desk is always covered in big maps and pages of numbers. It is quiet compared to the factories nearby, but there is always something to do. We drink a lot of water because of the sun. Sometimes the equipment gets temperamental if it gets too much sand in the moving parts, so we spend a lot of time cleaning lenses and sensors. It is a small group of us working here. We know the local roads and the empty plots of land better than almost anyone else in the area. People come to us when they need to know exactly where a boundary line is or how flat a piece of ground really is. We do not have a big sign or a fancy front door. It is just an office where we keep our gear and do our math. Every day feels a bit different because every piece of land has its own set of problems to solve.
