Omkar Complex is where we set up our electronics shop, specifically in units 106 and 107. It’s right in the Rangmahal area of Wadi, so there is always a lot of noise coming from the street. Baroda gets incredibly hot in the summer months, and our little workspace can feel like an oven if the fans aren't going full blast. We deal with all sorts of electronic components and boards throughout the week. It’s a lot of sitting at benches with soldering irons and looking at small parts that make your eyes tired by five o'clock. The shelves are usually a bit of a mess with wires and boxes that we haven't gotten around to organizing properly. We aren't a giant factory, just a group of people who know how to put things together and fix what’s broken. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the traffic in Wadi, which throws everything off for the afternoon. We drink a lot of tea while we work and talk about whatever is happening in the news. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady work and it keeps us busy. Having two units side by side helps, but we still find ourselves running out of space for all the equipment we need. Most of the folks around the complex know us by now, as we’ve been in this building for several years and have seen plenty of other businesses come and go while we stayed.
