Gloss Foundation

We started Gloss Foundation because we saw things that needed doing around Ganderbal. It isn’t some big office with fancy desks. Actually, we operate out of Aijaz Ahmad Shah’s place over in Duderhama. If you know the area, it’s not hard to find us once you get to that part of town. Mostly, it is just a few of us sitting together and figuring out how to help out the neighbors or whoever comes knocking. Some days are really busy and other days it is just us having tea and talking about what to do next. We don't have a lot of staff or anything like that. It’s mostly just family and some friends who live nearby. People in Ganderbal know Aijaz, so they just stop by when they have a problem or if they want to ask about what we are doing lately. The winters get pretty cold here so things slow down a bit then, but we try to keep the door open as much as we can. It’s a simple setup and we like it that way because it keeps us close to the people we are actually trying to work with. We don’t spend much time on the computer or making big plans. We just see what is happening in Duderhama and try to be useful where it makes sense. It’s just how we do things here every day without making a big fuss about it.
