Mahindra & Co.

Mahindra & Co. is our small business located at 1-56-89, Galiveedu Road, Araveedu. We have been here for a good number of years now. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a basic building on a busy road. Most days start early with me opening the shutters and sweeping out the front area. Galiveedu Road gets a lot of traffic, especially trucks and local buses, so there is always a bit of noise in the background. We don't have a big team of people, just a couple of us who know how to get the work done. The inside of the office is filled with old files and a couple of wooden chairs for visitors. We don't use much in the way of high-tech stuff. It’s mostly just pen and paper and a lot of talking to people who come by. The sun can get really hot in Araveedu, so we usually have a fan going all day long. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just have to sit and wait it out while we talk. It’s a slow pace of life in some ways, but we stay busy with whatever tasks come our way. We know the neighbors and the other shop owners on this stretch of road. It’s a simple life and we are just trying to do our job without any fuss. That’s how we’ve always done it and it seems to work fine for everyone involved. We just take things one day at a time here.
