Annapurna Mills

Mailardevpally is where we do all our work. Our mill is located at P 3/129 in Gaganpahad, and you can usually hear the machines running from the road. It’s a dusty place, there’s no way around that when you’re milling all day. We start early, usually before the sun is even fully up, to get the machines warmed up and ready. The floor is always covered in a fine layer of whatever we’re processing that day. We don't have a reception desk or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll likely find us near the loading dock or checking the bags. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the settings on the grinders are right. Gaganpahad is a good spot for us because the trucks can get in and out relatively easily, though the traffic near the highway can be a nightmare in the evenings. We’ve got a few workers who have been with us since we started at this location. We eat our lunch together in the small break room out back. There isn't much to say about our "story" other than we show up, run the mill, and go home. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around for the generator, which is annoying but part of the job. We just try to keep the quality steady so the customers don't complain. It’s plain work, but it’s what we know. The machines are old but they still do the job.
