Public Works Deptt.

Our office is the Public Works Deptt located in Rampuri Ward No. 10 over in Gadchiroli. It is a bit of a distance from the main city hubs, but we are right here in the middle of things for this district. Living and working in Gadchiroli has its own pace. Most of our staff are locals who know the roads and the land around here very well. We spend a lot of time looking at site plans and dealing with the local weather impacts on our projects. It is a basic government setup, nothing fancy at all. We have desks piled with files and maps of the area pinned to the walls. People from the ward often stop by just to ask about when a certain repair will happen. We do what we can with the tools and budget we have. It is mostly about maintaining the public structures in this part of Maharashtra. Some mornings are slow with tea and planning, and other days everyone is out in the field. We just handle the routine stuff like drainage and local road repairs. It is a steady job and we have a small group of people working together in this ward office. We keep the doors open for anyone needing to discuss local public works. It is just an honest day's work for us here. The building itself is old, but it stays cool enough in the summer heat.
