Arun Shivani

It has been quite a while since we first set up things here at B5&6-4032. When Arun Shivani started this, nobody really knew how it would turn out or if people would even find the place easily. It is not a very big spot, but it works for what we do every day. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if we ever find the time, but for now, the stacks of papers and the old desk seem to fit just right. Most mornings start with a bit of a struggle with the lock, it sticks sometimes, especially when it rains. We usually have the radio playing in the background, nothing too loud, just enough to keep the quiet away while we get through the morning tasks. People from the nearby blocks stop by just to say hello or ask for directions, and we don't mind the distraction at all. It feels more like a part of the neighborhood than just a place where work happens. Sometimes the internet goes out for no reason and we just sit there waiting and talking about the weather or what’s happening down the street. It is a bit messy in the corners, but we know where everything is kept. You won’t find anything fancy here, just a couple of chairs that have seen better days and a small window that lets in a sliver of sun in the afternoons. It’s home for us and we like the quiet routine of it all.
