Out here in Abohar, we are situated on Old Fazilka Road. Specifically, we are at street number 3 in Krishna Nagar, house or building number 28. It is a typical Punjab town setting where everyone knows the main roads. Sp Singla handles a lot of different tasks, and our office is the hub for all that activity. The street is usually filled with the sounds of the neighborhood. We aren't in a big glass building. It is just a practical space where we can meet and plan things out. The weather in Abohar gets very hot in the summer and quite cold in the winter, so our office is where we hide from the extremes. We have our files and our daily schedules pinned up. There is a lot of coordination involved in what we do. We often have people coming in and out to discuss bits of work or to drop off papers. It is a straightforward operation. We don’t use big words or fancy presentations. If there is a problem, we just talk it through and fix it. Most of us have lived around this area for a long time, so we know the layout of the town pretty well. The work keeps us busy from early morning until the evening. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep everything organized at the Krishna Nagar office. It’s a lot of manual record keeping and phone calls, but we get it done regardless of the weather outside.
