We are over here at number 2 in Adarsh Nagar. If you know Ferozepur City, you know it gets busy. Our office isn’t anything too special to look at from the outside, but it’s where all the work happens. Om Prakash and the rest of us spend most of the day at the drafting tables. There are usually rolls of blueprints leaning against the walls and a lot of empty tea cups sitting around. People come in with ideas for their houses or shops and we try to get it down on paper so the builders know what to do. It’s mostly local stuff. We see the same faces often. The light in this part of town is pretty good in the mornings which helps with the drawing. Sometimes the street noise gets loud when the market is in full swing, but we just keep our heads down. It’s a lot of measuring and double-checking numbers. Nobody wants a wall in the wrong place. We’ve been at this for a while now, just doing what we know. The office has that smell of old paper and ink that you get in places like this. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet you. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us hunched over a desk. It is a simple way to work but it seems to suit the way things go here in Ferozepur. Just plain work for regular people.
