J.N. Rice Mills

We spend most of our days here in Dahiz Kalan at J.N. Rice Mills. It is a quiet enough place but the machines make plenty of noise when they are running. My father started things around here and now we just keep it going as best as we can. The address is just Dahiz Kalan, everyone around here knows where it is anyway. We mostly deal with the local farmers who bring their harvest in. Sometimes the dust gets a bit much especially when it hasn't rained in a while. We have the big shed where the sacks get stacked up high. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but that is just how it is. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk with some old ledgers and a fan that squeaks a bit. The yard is big enough for the trucks to turn around. Usually, we start early before the sun gets too hot. By the afternoon, we are usually pretty tired but there is always more to do. Rice milling is just part of the life here in the village. People stop by to chat or check on their loads. It is a simple setup we have. We just try to get the work done right and keep the equipment from breaking down too often. It’s not a big corporate thing, just us working.
