Happy Clinic

We have been here at Basti tankan Wali for some time now. Being so close to the Railway Station means things are usually a bit loud outside, but you get used to the sound of the trains coming and going. The clinic itself is a simple place. We open up early in the morning, sweep the floor, and get things ready before the first people start showing up. Most of the folks who come in are from right here in the neighborhood, though sometimes someone coming off a train stops by because they saw the sign. The walls are painted a plain color and we have some old chairs in the waiting area that have seen better days, but they do the job. It’s not a fancy setup with big television screens or anything like that. We mostly just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we just sit and wait it out with the patients. It gives us a chance to talk about the weather or how the local market is doing. My desk is usually covered in papers and appointment slips that I try to keep organized, though it doesn't always stay that way. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in town, just a steady spot where people know they can find us near the tracks. It’s a busy life but we like it here in this part of Basti tankan Wali.
