Guranditta Mal Shanti Prakash Rice Mills

Guranditta Mal Shanti Prakash Rice Mills is situated along Kot-Ise-Khan Road in Village Mansoor. We are deep in the Ferozepur district. This mill has been the center of our lives for as long as I can remember. It is a pretty straightforward place. We take the grain, process it, and bag it up. There isn’t much mystery to it. The location in the village means we know almost everyone who brings their crop to us. We’ve seen kids grow up and start working their own land. The mill itself is a mix of old parts and some newer things we’ve added when we could afford it. It’s a bit noisy when everything is running at once, and you have to shout to be heard. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find us near the loading docks or in the back checking the husking machines. We do the repairs ourselves when we can. It saves money and we know the machines better than anyone else. The weather dictates our schedule mostly. If it’s raining, things slow down. If it’s dry and harvest time, we are here day and night. It’s a lot of physical labor, but it keeps us going. We just try to stay busy and keep the mill running smooth without overthinking things too much.
