Ambuja Cement

Bazaar No. 3 in Ferozepur Cantt is a busy place. House number 98 is where we do our thing with Ambuja Cement. It’s a bit cramped sometimes because of all the people moving around the bazaar. You get the smell of local food and the noise of rickshaws all day. Punjab gets really cold in the winter, and handling those heavy bags with cold hands isn't the most fun part of the job. We spend a lot of time just keeping the paperwork in order and making sure the deliveries go to the right streets in the Cantt area. The building isn't anything special to look at, just an old house converted into a workspace. We have some tea when it gets slow and talk about the local news. The street is narrow, so when a truck arrives, it's a whole production to get things unloaded without blocking everyone else. It’s just how it is here. We’ve got a routine that works for us, even if it’s a bit chaotic during the peak hours of the market. People stop by to ask about prices or just to say hello while they are doing their shopping in Bazaar No. 3. It's a very local way of doing business, nothing like those big corporate offices you see in the city movies. We just keep the bags dry and the records straight so things don't get messed up in the 152001 area.
