Ahuja General Mill

You can find Ahuja General Mill on Abohar Road. We are tucked into the industrial area, not too far from the Shani Mandir. The temple bells are nice to hear in the evenings when things start to quiet down. During the day, though, it’s all about the machines. We’ve been here for years, and the walls are a bit stained from the grease and the weather. We do a lot of different grinding and processing here. It’s a general mill, so we see a bit of everything. The floor is concrete and has some cracks, but it holds up. My uncle started this place, and I took over the daily stuff. We have a small crew of about five guys. They are good workers, even if they show up a bit late sometimes. The truck drivers know our gate well because it’s a bit tight to turn into. We usually have tea together in the mid-morning near the front entrance. It’s a dusty job, and the fans mostly just move the hot air around, but it’s what we do. We don't have any polished brochures. If you need something, you just walk in and ask. The office is just a small wooden partition with a calendar from three years ago still hanging on the wall. It’s a simple operation, but we stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the families fed.
