Firozpur Foundation

This is just our small group here at House Number 22 in Vikas Vihar. We called it Firozpur Foundation because we really care about our town. It is not a fancy office, just a house where we meet up to talk about what needs doing. Some days we are looking at the local roads and other days we are trying to help a family that has fallen on hard times. It is very informal. We don't have a big board of directors or anything like that. It is mostly just neighbors sitting around a table drinking tea and planning. We try to be there for people when the system is too slow or doesn't listen. Firozpur has its challenges, and we figured we might as well try to help out instead of just complaining. We collect things people don't need anymore and find someone who does. It is simple work really. Sometimes it is tiring because we all have our own jobs and families to look after too. But when you see a neighbor smile because you helped them fix a leak or get some medicine, it feels worth the effort. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our little part of Vikas Vihar. We have lived here a long time, so we know everyone and their stories. If you are ever near House 22, you will see our sign. It is nothing special to look at, but we are always inside working on something. We just want things to be a bit better for the next generation here in Firozpur.
