Sunrise Public School

Out here in Kasganj, on the road between Krishna Nagar and Kaliyanpur-Garhi, you’ll find Sunrise Public School. It’s not a huge place, just a decent-sized building where we’ve been teaching local kids for a while now. The road out front gets a bit dusty in the summer and quite muddy when the monsoon hits, but the kids don't seem to mind it much. We’ve got a gate and some space for them to line up for the morning assembly before classes start. It’s a pretty standard routine here. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot to think. The classrooms are basic, just desks and boards, nothing high-tech or fancy. We focus on the textbooks and making sure everyone understands what they’re reading. Parents from around the Garhi Road area drop their kids off on cycles or old scooters. We know most of them by name since it’s a relatively small community. Sometimes we have to remind the kids to stay away from the main road when they’re waiting for their rides after school ends. It’s a lot of noise during the recess break, which is expected with so many children. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many kids running around, there’s always something to clean up at the end of the day. We aren't trying to be the most modern school in the state, just a reliable place for the families living around Krishna Nagar. We do what we can with what we have, and it’s been working out okay for the local neighborhood.
