Located at 27 Durga Nagar Street No. 1, our shop is basically a part of the neighborhood. We have been selling bangles here for as long as I can remember. It started out very small and it’s still pretty much the same size today. The street outside is usually full of kids playing or people heading to the market. We keep the doors open so we can see what’s going on outside. The walls inside are covered with rows of bangles in every color you can think of. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes because we have so much stock and not enough shelf space. We don't have a marketing team or a website. Most people just know us because they live nearby or their mother told them about us. When festivals come around, the shop gets really hectic and we stay open much later than usual. My hands usually end up covered in glitter or dust by the end of the shift. We sit on old wooden chairs and use a simple fan to keep cool. Sometimes we run out of certain sizes and have to wait for the next delivery to come in. It’s a very local way of doing things. We know most of the people who walk in by their first names. It’s just a regular shop on a regular street where we work.
