Thind Neeraj Architect

This is Neeraj’s architecture practice over in Jalalabad. We are based in Ganesh Nagar, specifically Street Number 2 in Ward 8. The house number is 1471/10 if you are looking for it. It is a quiet residential street, so it’s a good place to concentrate on drawings without too much distraction. I’ve lived in Fazilka for a long time, so I know the local style and what people around here expect when they build. My office is basically just a room filled with cabinets of old projects and a couple of large tables for the blueprints. I don't have a big staff, so I do most of the site supervision myself. I spend a lot of time on my motorbike going between different construction spots in the ward. It’s a lot of checking on the masonry and making sure the levels are correct. Sometimes people stop me on the street to ask questions about their own houses. I don't mind it. The work is mostly about making sure the space is used well, especially on the smaller plots we have around here. I use a lot of local contractors I’ve known for years. We aren't doing anything incredibly flashy, just solid work for the families in Ganesh Nagar. Every day is different, depending on which roof is being poured or which foundation is being dug. It’s a simple life but the work is honest and it keeps me connected to the town and its growth.
