If you head over to the industrial area in Ferozepur City, you’ll find us easily enough. Dev Raj Hi-Tech Machiens Limited has a fairly large workshop there, though "hi-tech" might feel like a funny word when you see all the grease and old tools we use. The place is full of the sound of metal hitting metal and the smell of machine oil. It’s the kind of place where your clothes get stained within five minutes of walking in. We spend our days mostly fixing parts or trying to get the lathes to behave. Some of the machines are newer, but we still have the old ones that we trust more. The roof is corrugated metal, so when it rains, you can barely hear yourself think. In the summer, it gets incredibly hot inside, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through the industrial estate. We aren't big on meetings or paperwork; we’d rather just be out on the floor working on something. Most of the guys here have been with us for a long time and know the machines by the sounds they make. It’s a rough environment, but we like it that way. We just focus on getting the jobs done so the customers can get their equipment back and get to work. We don't care much for fancy titles, just for making sure the machines run smoothly for everyone.
