The Beach

The Beach is an odd name for a place in Fazilka, since we are nowhere near the ocean. We are sitting at E-1623 in the Gandhi Nagar Extension, right off Abohar Road. This is Distt. Ferozepur in Punjab, and the sun gets really hot out here in the summer. Our building is just a normal structure on a street that stays pretty busy with tractors and local cars. Inside, it’s mostly just us trying to keep things organized and making sure the daily tasks are finished. There isn't any sand or water around, just the dusty roads of Fazilka. We have some chairs for people to sit and a table that has seen better days. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they do the job for now. We see a lot of local folks coming by just to check on things or ask questions. It’s a small-town vibe where everyone knows someone who knows you. We don’t go in for big advertisements or anything flashy. It is just a practical spot for the business to run. Sometimes we sit outside when the weather is decent, just watching the traffic on Abohar Road go past. It is a long way from the big cities like Chandigarh or Delhi, and things move a little slower here. We like it that way because it gives us time to talk to people properly.
