If you drive down Mohan Ke Road in Guruharsahai, you will find our workshop. Nagi Engg. Works has been a fixture here for a while. It is a straightforward engineering shop where we spend our days welding, cutting, and grinding metal. The road outside can get pretty dusty, but inside we are usually focused on whatever job is on the bench. We get a lot of farmers bringing in their equipment that needs a quick repair during the harvest season, and we also do some bigger structural pieces when someone is building nearby. The floor is usually covered in scrap metal and the air smells like burnt ozone and machine oil. It is not the cleanest job in the world, but we enjoy working with our hands. We have a few old machines that have been with us since the start, and they still work better than the new ones sometimes. We don't really have a front desk; usually, someone just shouts from the back if they hear a customer walk in. We take our lunch breaks together under the fan when it gets too hot. There is no corporate manual here, just common sense and a bit of experience. We do what needs to be done to get the machines back in working order for the people in town. We keep things simple and just focus on the task at hand until the sun goes down.
