Nachur Traders

You can find Nachur Traders in Sham Khera, which is right near the Gurudwara in Malout. It’s a quiet spot most of the time, except when the harvest is coming in or folks are moving goods around the village. We’ve been trading here for a good while, mostly helping out the local farmers and residents with what they need. The shop is simple, nothing more than it needs to be. We store our stock in the back and keep the front open for anyone who walks in. Since we are so close to the Gurudwara, there is always a bit of life on the street. We know most of the people who come in by their first names. It isn't the kind of place where you’ll find fancy displays or high-tech systems. We use old notebooks and a simple calculator most days. Sometimes things get a little slow in the heat of the afternoon, so we sit out front and watch the world go by until the next customer shows up. We take things as they come. If a shipment is late, we wait for it. If a neighbor needs a hand, we help. It’s a slow and steady kind of life here in Sham Khera. We don’t see a reason to change how we do things after all these years. It works for the village and it works for us too. Sometimes we run out of tea, but there’s always more at the stall nearby.
