You can find Mahendra Singh Rice Mill over on Firozpur Road, right near the police station in Mamdot. We’ve been at this address for quite some time. It's No.31, if you’re looking for the specific spot. Most people around here just know us by the sound of the mill or the trucks parked out front. It is a straight-up operation, nothing more and nothing less. We deal with the rice coming in from the surrounding post-Mamdot areas. Some days are slower than others, but during peak times, it is all hands on deck. I usually handle the paperwork while the guys are out back managing the machinery. It's not a shiny place, just a workspace where things get done. We don't spend much on office decorations because the mill floor is what matters. The road outside can get a bit clogged with traffic, especially since the police station is so close. We just try to keep out of the way and do our work. It’s a noisy life but it keeps us busy. My father started this and we just kept it going. We know the neighbors and they know us. If the machines break down, we fix them ourselves mostly. That’s how we’ve always operated. No big plans, just sticking to the routine and making sure the bags are filled and moved out on time. We take things as they come.
