Maa Gauri Rice Mills

Maa Gauri Rice Mills is situated right on Jalalabad Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, and you’ll often see trailers lined up waiting to get into our gate. The mill itself is a sturdy place, built to handle the heavy work of processing rice day in and day out. Inside, it’s all about the machinery. We spend our time walking between the different sections, making sure nothing is getting stuck or overheating. It’s a noisy environment, but we like the sound of things running well. The office is a bit separate from the main milling floor so we can actually hear each other talk when we’re dealing with the paperwork. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just know how to handle rice and that’s what we do. The walls are a bit stained from years of use, and the yard could probably use a bit of leveling, but it serves its purpose. We see a lot of the same faces every week, mostly drivers and local sellers. We usually share a cup of tea in the mornings before the real chaos of the day starts. It’s a local business through and through, run by people who grew up around here. We don't think much about being corporate. We just focus on the bags of rice and getting the orders out on time for whoever needs them.
