Bansal Rice Mill

Bansal Rice Mill sits right on Jalalabad Road, not far from the Maan Godown. If you know this area, you know how busy the road can get with all the transport trucks moving back and forth. Our spot is a practical one, built for work and not for looking pretty. We spend our time managing the grain that comes in from the local growers. The machinery is loud and it usually stays running from early morning until late evening when the season is at its peak. There is always a layer of fine dust on the windows and the smell of raw grain is something you just get used to after a few days of working here. We have a couple of rooms for the staff and a small area where the paperwork gets sorted out, usually on a wooden table that has seen better days. It is a straightforward operation. We don't go in for anything complicated or high-tech. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves or call the local mechanic who knows these parts. The traffic on the main road is constant, and you can always hear the horns and the rumbling of the big rigs passing by. It is just a regular life here, dealing with the harvest and making sure the bags are stacked right. We don't have a lot of visitors unless they are here for business. The work is dirty and tiring, but it keeps the lights on.
