Support For Villagers Foundation

Our group is located out in Guruchak Village, which is part of the Fatehpur panchayat in the Akbarpur block. You can find us at the home of S.B. Mahto’s wife, as that is where we do all our planning and meeting. Living out in the village means we see exactly what people go through every day with the crops and the weather. We started this foundation because we saw that folks around here often get forgotten by the people in the big towns. It is a quiet place for the most part, except when the tractors are moving through or during the harvest season. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just sit together on the porch or in the main room and talk about what the villagers need, whether it is help with some paperwork or just getting resources to the right houses. Most of us have lived in this block our whole lives, so we know the families and the land pretty well. We are just regular people trying to look out for our neighbors in Guruchak and the surrounding spots. It is slow work and sometimes it is frustrating when things do not move fast, but we just keep at it. There is no big secret to what we do, just showing up and trying to be useful where we can in our own little corner of the world.
