J.J. Engineering

J.J. Engineering is situated in the Bindki Tehsil area of Fatehpur. Our shop is quite easy to find as it is near the Mahatma Gandhi Girls College, so there is always a lot of activity on the road with students and local villagers walking by. The workshop is mostly filled with large metal-working machines and various pieces of heavy iron that we are working on at any given time. There is usually grease and oil on most of the surfaces, and our clothes stay stained no matter how much they are washed. We handle a lot of repair jobs for farm equipment and make small parts that people need for their local projects. The floor is made of hard-packed earth and stone, which actually stays quite cool even when the sun is really hot outside. We have an old wooden bench where people can sit if they are waiting for a quick welding job to be finished. The noise of the drills and the lathes is pretty much constant during the day, so we have to speak up to be heard. It is a very practical place where we focus on fixing things or building them from scratch out of raw metal. We do not have any big signs or advertisements, just the piles of work sitting out in front. The village life is quiet, but our shop stays busy with the sound of metal on metal.
