The Nines Inc.

The Nines Inc. is located at number 39 in the Baba Moti Ram Mehra Market. We are very close to the Jyoti Swarup Gurudwara, which is a good landmark if you are trying to find us for the first time. The market is always packed with people, especially in the evenings when everyone is out doing their shopping. Our shop isn't very large, but we manage to fit quite a lot of stuff inside. We sell clothes and some accessories. I’ve been working here for about five years now. My day usually starts with a walk to the Gurudwara before I unlock the shop doors. The tea stall next door is where I get my breakfast most mornings. The walls inside are painted a dull white and we have some old wooden racks that have been here since before I took over. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon is particularly bad, so we have to move the boxes around to keep them dry. It’s just me and one helper most of the time. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in because they are already in the market looking for things. We talk to the other shopkeepers a lot. It’s a tight-knit community here. Everyone helps each other out when there’s a problem with the electricity or the water supply. It is a simple place to work.
