J. K. Mechanical Works

We are over on Amloh Road. Most folks know where we are because we’re right near the petrol pump. It gets pretty busy around here with all the traffic coming and going. J. K. Mechanical Works has been in this exact spot for a long time now. The shop isn't anything fancy to look at, just a lot of metal, tools, and spare parts lying around on the benches. My hands are usually covered in black oil by ten in the morning and they stay that way until I go home. People stop by when their machines act up or when something breaks unexpectedly. Sometimes they just want to ask a quick question while they’re getting fuel next door at the pump. We keep the big doors open even when it’s dusty outside. There is always some welding to do or a specific part that needs fixing on the lathe. It gets loud in here because of the grinders and the hammering, but I don't really mind the noise. You just get used to it after doing this for a few years. We don't have a big office or a secretary, just a simple desk with way too many papers and old invoices on it. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break to sit down. If you see the sign near the pump, that is us. We just stay busy with whatever work comes through the door.
