Gian Rice Mills

We run Gian Rice Mills over on Narvana Road in Patran. If you are heading out of town, you cannot really miss us. We have got a decent-sized yard where the trucks pull in. Working with rice means you are always at the mercy of the harvest schedule. When the grain starts coming in, we do not have much time for anything else. We spend hours making sure the milling process is going okay. The smell of raw rice is something that stays with you long after you go home. Our team is just a handful of local guys who know their way around the equipment. We do not have a polished front office or anything like that. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find us near the loading docks or the main engine. Patran is a busy hub, and Narvana Road gets a lot of traffic. We have seen a lot of people come and go over the years. We just keep doing what we do. It is hard on the back, lifting those heavy sacks, but it is what we have always done. We do not have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just mill the rice and try to keep the machines from breaking down. It is a practical business for practical people. Most days are long, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing the clean rice piled up at the end of the shift.
