Diamond Cricket Academy

Diamond Cricket Academy is situated on Bighar Road. We are very close to the Guru Teg Bahadur Institute, which makes it easy for the students to find us after their classes are done. The academy is basically a patch of ground and some nets where we spend our mornings and evenings. You can hear the sound of the ball hitting the bat from quite a distance away. It is a noisy, lively place when the kids are here practicing their bowling. I am usually out there with a whistle or helping someone fix their grip on the bat. We do not have a big fancy stadium, just a good spot on Bighar Road where people can learn the game. The dust flies up when the wind blows, and we spend a lot of time rolling the pitch to keep it flat. It is a lot of work maintaining a cricket spot, but we enjoy being outdoors. Parents come by and sit on the benches to watch their boys and girls play. We keep things simple here. There are no high-tech gadgets, just pads, bats, and a lot of practice. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we take breaks under the shade. It is a good community feeling when everyone is out there on the grass trying their best to get a wicket or hit a six. We have been here for years now.
