Working out of Teachers Colony in Kannauj is a bit different from the big city offices. We are tucked away in Pipal Wali Gali, which is a narrow lane that can be a bit tricky for larger vehicles sometimes. Kannauj is famous for its perfumes, but here at Safexpress, we are mostly dealing with boxes and packages of all sorts. The office is small and honest, with just enough room for our staff and the paperwork that keeps everything moving. You can usually find a few of us sitting around the main table, checking the manifests and making sure the delivery boys have their routes planned out correctly. It’s a quiet neighborhood for the most part, except when a delivery van is trying to navigate the turn near the entrance. We have a routine that starts early in the morning when the first shipments arrive. There is a lot of talk and occasional arguments over where things should go, but it all gets sorted out by noon. We don't have any fancy decorations or soft carpets, just plain walls and some sturdy chairs that have seen better days. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit by the door to catch the breeze. It is a local operation through and through. We know the people around here and they know us. It’s just about getting the work done and making sure the day ends with all the items accounted for correctly.
