S. K. Wire Nail

Over in Village Jindapur, you’ll find our workshop for S. K. Wire Nail. We are near the Durga Mandir, which is a big part of the community here. The address is Post Office Ghatiaghat, in the Tehsil of Ghatiaghat, Farrukhabad district. Being so close to the Durga Mandir, we can often hear the bells and the prayers. It’s a good place to be. We make nails, so it’s a noisy business. The machines have a rhythm to them that you get used to after a few days. The floor is covered in small bits of metal and wire. We spend our time feeding the machines and packing up what they make. It’s a village life, so things aren't too rushed, but we do have a lot of work to get through. Farrukhabad is where we’ve always been. The workshop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a simple building in Jindapur. We keep the doors open to let the heat out. Sometimes we sit outside for a break and watch the people going toward the temple. It’s a steady job, making something as simple as a wire nail. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know how the machines work. It’s honest work in a quiet village, and we’re happy to be here near Ghatiaghat.
