Sreenidhi Spintex Pvt. Ltd. Chilkamarry is located at Survey Number 186 in the village. This part of Chilkamarry is mostly fields, so our building stands out quite a bit. Inside, it’s usually very loud because of all the spinning machines running at once. We work with cotton mostly, so there is always a bit of lint floating in the air despite the fans. The workers here come from all around the local area, some walking and some on bikes. We have shifts that run through the day and night to keep up with the work. It’s a big space, but it feels crowded once all the materials are stacked up. The floors are hard concrete, and we spend most of the day on our feet. We aren't really set up for visitors, it's more of a production place where we just focus on the yarn and the machines. Sometimes the power goes out, and things get quiet for a while, which is a strange break from the usual humming. We have a small area where we keep our logs and paperwork, but mostly we are out on the floor. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t do anything flashy. We just process the materials as they come in and send them out when they are ready. The village life is slow, but inside these walls, things move pretty fast most of the time because there is always another batch to start.
